The Courthouse Fieldtrip

March 12, 2009

On Tuesday March.10,2009, we went to the Surrey Courthouse as a fieldtrip. We got to see really court case trials. At the front entrance there were Correction Officers going through everyones jackets, backpacks, and purses, and then they used a Metal Detector to make sure no one was carrying any knives. There was a huge murder case going on so Room 107 was banned,no one was permitted to enter the room. The first case trial that I saw was in Room 103 and it was about a chinese man who gave his children Marijuana, the chinese man had 150 marijuana plants in his bedroom and had 50 duplicate .His Children are abolut 12-14 by age.At room 103 we met a Lawyer named: Rudy G. he told us a few jokes to keep us entertained until the judge came. After that we went to Room 101 to see a different case.We realised that in that court room there was more than one case going on.After that we went back to a room that a lady named Lally Pawa assigned to us.Lally Pawa is the CourtHouse Educater. We had lunch and then at 12:00 pm ,we got our costumes for the mock trial we were going to do.The mock trial was from Harry Potter.I was the Clerk so i had to wear a short black coat.It was fun! I learned that there is a underground jail in the court house.I was surprised to hear that. i thought that they kept prisoners/criminals in a different deparment but i was wrong.I also learned that There was a underground tunnel leading to the deparments across the street.Overall i had a lot of fun and am looking forward into going there again.

Man,21 charged after gas station shootings

Summary:
A man named Shane Steven Gibon shot the 19 year old owner’s elderly dad in the stomach at a Tempo Gas Station in Chilliwack. During the robbery on November 17th.Shane Steven Gibon is going to face 2 counts of attempt murder.
My Opinion:
I think violence is wrong.Especially when it happens at a gas station. Many people would have gotten hurt because if Gibon missed  the owners elderly dad he could have hit the gas tank and then it could have leaked and have blew up and many people would have died.He shouldnt have shot the owners elderly dad in the stomach during Gibon was trying to rob their gas station!!!!Robbery is very corrupt and wrong.

All About Me!!

October 8, 2008

My childhood memory is the first time I got stitches, which was when I was 5 years old and I got into a car accident here at Surrey B.C. When had recently just moved here and we were going to the hospital to see my little cousin. I was sitting in the middle of the car, trying to look out of the window, a black pick-up truck comes hit’s the side right side of the car(where my grandma was sitting). No one got hurt except me. The glass cracked and hit my forehead. I was taken to the hospital immediately . We had to wait one hour for the doctor to arrive. All the glass was taken out of my forehead. I got 32 stitches on my forehead. I had to stay at the hospital for 5-6 hours before I came home. This accident occurred on November.26/2001 at 2pm. This is a childhood accident I will never forget.

The most important people in my life are: my parents. They are the ones who tell you the difference between right and wrong. They are the ones that give us hope.3 personality trades my parents have are loving, caring and playful. No one else can take their places. When I need help with my homework , my parents are always willing to help me. When I need supplies for my work, I can count on my parents to bring me the supplies. They work hard to feed us and fulfill our wants and wishes.

I see myself in the future as a successful doctor at the age 30. I also want a huge mansion near a beach, and I want to have a perfect view of the beach from my bedroom. I want to be the richest doctor in Canada. But before I become a successful doctor I want to go to College and University to finish my studies. Then I want to travel around the world. I also want a new Ferrari. Then I want will become a successful doctor.

My favourite sports is Hockey! Hockey is a Canadian sport. its very fun to play. My favourite hockey team is the Vancouver Canucks. My favourite player is Ryan Kesler. I love the whole team! even though they havent won a cup yet in franchise history; this will be the year the cup comes to Vancouver!

My favourite foods is: home-made pizza.I like pizza because it is junk food. My favourite pizza toppings are: olives, pineapple, onions, peppers, pepperoni and cheese. Most of the time we make cheese pizza and vege pizza. We make pepperoni pizza very often.

The 5 best things about me are: Humour, Trustworthy, Organized, Good Friend and Very Helpful.

I think that one best thing about me is my sense of humour. Sometimes when I tell too many jokes , my friends get annoyed. They also get mad at me. Like once one of my ex-friends had a banana and me and my other friend were talking about monkeys and banana and by accident, we said your a monkey because your eating a banana and then she burst into tears. But sometimes I make people laugh a lot.

I am also trustworthy. If my friends tell me a secret I will keep it. I wont tell anyone. I keep my promises. I also share some secrets with my friends. There were a couple of secrets that I had to tell. I don’t lie(well, sometimes I do though most of the time I don’t)

I am very organized at school and at home. If you look inside my desk you’ll see that its neat. No loose papers insight. At home you might see some loose papers, but I will know where all my work is. Example: I will know where my eraser is to where my sweater is. Often I wont know where my papers and pencils are. When I rush quickly to put my papers and pencils away. Most of the time I am organized.

I am a Good Friend. I can never let them down. When they are sad, I am always there to help them. I am true friend that wont leave my friends side, no matter what the situation is. I will always be honest to my friends. I’ll also encourage them when they are trying something new than discouraging them or giving them false hope. I am a good friend.

The last best thing about me is that I am very helpful. I help everyone around the school. I volunteer to try something new and exciting. Experiences like for the Terry Fox run, I took a big risk in being the MC and speaking in front of the whole school and I am looking forward into taking more risks.

If I were in charge of the whole world I would Shutdown all schools and open candy factories .The candy will be in all sorts of shapes and sizes like 2feet long twistlers ,big gummy drops and pinky sized lollipops. Lots and lots of sugar. Big trucks filled with candy will be delivered to everyone’s house. We will have lots of caramel apples. 24/7 we can eat junk food and candy. We should be having Candy trees than apple trees.

Children over 12 years old, will be able to drive, traffic lights, stop signs, and best of all no LAWS. We kids can do anything we want . We can have Halloween, Christmas, and holidays whenever we want. We can hang-out at our friends house whenever we want to. Our parents will be free, they wont really have to take care of us.Life would be sooo much easier without laws.I wish that could be our everyday life.
